Background information

In an agreement dated 12 March 2024, the management of Engie Green France adopted a number of measures aimed at enabling its employees to contribute to reducing the company's environmental impact. These measures were adopted by a company-wide agreement signed by management and the CFDT. Its aim is to ‘enable everyone to contribute to reducing the company's environmental impact and to be part of a sustainable development approach’.

Content of measure

The agreement applies to all employees (on permanent contracts, fixed-term contracts, apprentices, trainees, part-time employees or employees working in several workplaces), at all sites, and to all categories of personnel.

Ecological transition

In order to involve its employees in energy efficiency and the ecological transition, a dedicated working group called the ‘Eco-workshop’ has been set up. Taking the form of a group of no more than 40 employees, it will have three tasks: - draw up an inventory of the company's situation in terms of ecological transition ; - draw up a carbon footprint (scope 1, 2 and 3) for the construction of the company's wind farms and solar power plants for the year 2022, in order to establish a reference year; - identify the priority areas for action in order to ‘implement the ecological transition in a comprehensive and progressive manner, while ensuring sustainable economic viability’.

The committee will include, by right, a representative of the CSR teams, a representative appointed by each trade union organisation representing the company, and the two members of the environment committee of the Social and Economic Committee (CSE). It will be chaired by the head of the HSSE-RSE (health, safety, environment and corporate social responsibility) department. Participants will be granted leave of absence without reduction of pay to attend meetings, travel and accommodation expenses will be covered in accordance with current rates, and they will have free access to information documents relating to the issues addressed.

Time and budget dedicated to social and environmental initiatives

A fixed amount of two days per year, which can be taken in half-days, will be granted to 30 employees to take part in social and environmental actions in an associative context. To take part in this dedicated time, they are granted leave of absence with no reduction in pay, and their travel and accommodation expenses, if any, are covered, within the limits of travel in mainland France and the scales in force. In addition, a budget of €20 per year per employee is earmarked for environmental initiatives, the use of which will be determined by the head of the HSSE-RSE department, in consultation with the CSE environment committee.

Encouraging environmentally-friendly modes of transport

The company is introducing a sustainable mobility package (FMD), which replaces the mileage allowance for bicycles and the aid for the purchase of sustainable mobility resulting from the green mobility plan (PMV) that has been deployed within the company for several years. To qualify for payment of the FMD (€350 per year), employees must cover at least 70% of the distance between their usual place of residence and their place of work over the calendar year using one of the eligible modes of transport (bicycles and scooters, whether electric or not, and car-pooling), and provide their manager with an annual declaration
